Nan Müller, a visual artist born in Paris in 1979, has been living and working in Bordeaux since 2019. Her academic background spans Performing Arts, Archaeology, and Art History, disciplines that deeply inform her reflections on memory and materiality. Graduating in 2008 from the École des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, she has developed an artistic approach where personal, mythological, and cultural influences intersect.

Fairy tales, myths, and popular legends, rooted in her family heritage tied to the theater, imbue her early creations, weaving a narrative thread through each work. Over time, her travels and interest in Asian cultures have enriched her artistic universe, adding a more introspective and sensitive dimension.

Today, Nan Müller focuses primarily on series that investigate the fragility of materials and the traces left by time. Peau d'âme, What Remains of Me, and Bullet Journal are projects that combine meticulous craftsmanship, experimentation, and poetry. Using materials like tissue paper—which she cuts, burns, or transforms—she explores the tension between erasure and resilience, memory and disappearance.

Her creative process, often lengthy and delicate, reflects both a personal and universal quest: to give ephemeral elements a tangible presence while questioning the very essence of art and memory.
