Murmurations
This series returns to the essence of drawing, a fundamental gesture in the artist's practice. True to this habit, she fills small sketchbooks daily, scribbling spontaneously. On the black paper, the colored pencil emerges, revealing a palette of blues, reflecting her recent research. The shapes, borrowed from her previous series, echo her favorite material: tissue paper, light, fragile and malleable, thus extending her exploration of matter and line.
"I remember my fascination with Tim Burton's drawings, discovered during the exhibition of his work at the Cinémathèque de Paris in 2012. The striking contrast of the colours on the black paper dazzled me. I have always loved playing with coloured pencils and I return to them regularly. With them, I am comfortable and can easily achieve what I have in mind. I also appreciate the softness of the pencil on the sheet and the intensity of the colour, which stands out magnificently on the black background. It is a change from the more laborious work that I usually inflict on paper."
